Have you ever played poker with your barkada and spent half the game trying to figure out what everyone else is holding? You know the feeling: someone looks way too confident, someone else is suspiciously quiet, and another person drops a chip while you wonder what they're seeing that you're not. Now imagine playing poker where you can't just ask, which is the twist behind The Gang PH cooperative poker game, where the whole table becomes one crew of thieves instead of rivals.
Poker, But Everyone Is on the Same Team
If you know Texas Hold'em, the setup feels familiar, with two private cards each and community cards revealed in the middle, but the goal is different. Instead of beating your friends, your crew of 3 to 6 players has to work out how everyone's hands rank against each other, from the weakest at the table to the strongest, without anybody saying what they're holding.
Get the order right and you crack a vault, but get it wrong and an alarm goes off. Crack three vaults and everyone wins together, while three alarms mean the heist is over. That changes the poker dynamic, because when your friend lands a fantastic hand, you're not hoping they lose, since you actually need them to recognize it.
Why You Suddenly Start Watching Everyone
Here's where The Gang PH gets really fun, because you can't announce, "Guys, I have a pair," or pass along information about anyone else's hand, so the chips do the talking. Everyone grabs a chip with stars on it to show how strong they think their hand is compared with the rest of the table, and there's no turn order, so everybody is deciding at the same time.
Naturally, you start paying attention to everybody, so when your friend puts down a low-value chip, you figure their hand isn't looking great, but then the flop comes out and they suddenly grab a stronger one, and now you're wondering what happened.
Four Rounds of Watching, Guessing, and Second-Guessing
Each heist follows the four familiar stages of Texas Hold'em: pre-flop, flop, turn, and river. Everyone starts with two private cards and a first prediction, then three community cards appear on the flop, the turn adds a fourth, and the river brings out the fifth and final one.
This is where your original prediction can start falling apart. Maybe your cards looked ordinary at the start, but the flop hands you something much better. Because everyone is deciding at the same time, you're constantly tracking what the other players might be doing too, and by the river you've seen enough to make your final call.
The Showdown: Did You Actually Read the Table?
It's time to find out whether that table-watching paid off. Only the red chips from the river count, and they set the reveal order, starting with whoever holds the 1-star chip. One by one, everyone shows their hand, and the crew finds out whether the poker hands came out in the right order from weakest to strongest.
If every hand is equal to or stronger than the one before it, the crew cracks a vault. But if someone reveals a weaker hand after a stronger one, an alarm goes off, and a game runs three to five heists until you've cracked three vaults or triggered three alarms.

Why The Gang PH Works So Well for Game Night
What makes The Gang PH stand out is that it takes something a lot of people already understand and gives it a completely different purpose. If you enjoy poker, you'll recognize the hand rankings and the rhythm of watching community cards appear. If you like strategy games, there's a satisfying puzzle in working out how everyone's hands compare. And if your group wants something different after dinner, a cooperative poker game gives everybody a reason to stay involved.
It's also funny trying to read your friends when nobody can say what they have, because you'll convince yourself you know exactly what another player is holding, only for the showdown to prove your deduction wasn't so brilliant. But when everyone gets the order right, nobody has to watch someone else celebrate while the rest lose. You all got there together, in about 20 minutes, with English and Filipino rulebooks in the box.
