Hello Gaming Lib Fam!
I’m brimming with brick-building excitement because there’s a brand-new LEGO board game hitting the table! (Okay fine, I might be a bit biased since I worked on this, but trust me, that’s just a bonus.) Say hello to LEGO Brick Like This! now officially available!
In Brick Like This, teams of two take on the roles of Instructor and Builder. The Instructor holds the secret Shape Card, while the Builder has to bring that vision to life, brick by brick, without ever seeing the card. Everyone builds at the same time, battling the clock and each other in a race of speed, smarts, and stacks. After six rounds of frantic fun, the team with the most points proves they’re the real masters of the bricks.
If you’ve ever played Team3 and loved the chaos of trying to communicate without perfect information, you’ll feel right at home with LEGO® Brick Like This! Instead of apes stacking oddly-shaped blocks, you’ve got Instructors describing LEGO® shapes and Builders frantically trying to piece them together, brick by brick, stud by stud.
It’s fast, funny, and surprisingly frantic. And while AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO) might flex their brick vocabulary to their advantage (“give me that 2x2 plate, not the 1x2 tile!”), the real fun is in how every group develops its own secret shorthand. Sometimes that speeds things up. Sometimes… not so much. Either way, the table talk turns into half the entertainment.
And here’s a thought: imagine Brick Like This as a team-building activity with giant LEGO® bricks. Suddenly, office icebreakers go from boring to brick-breaking brilliance. Six rounds of structured chaos later, and you’ll know which colleagues you can count on in a crisis, or at least who panics when someone yells, “hand me the red one!”
