Gaming Library is poised to transform this year’s TOYCON from a mere pop-culture event into a serious battlefield. From June 8-10, the tabletop gaming pioneer will be staging back-to-back tournaments that will pit strategic players against one another in a bid for gaming glory and rewards.

Gaming Library calls on the most daring members of the gaming community to participate in matches featuring two of its most popular and best-selling titles: Rising Sun and Scythe. Rising Sun is a game that has players battling for control of feudal Japan, and revolves around the concepts of honor, negotiation and warfare. Meanwhile, Scythe takes players to 1920’s Eastern Europe, where territorial conquests are won through engine-building, farming, and recruitment.

Aside from bragging rights, the victors will be awarded with special prizes!

The tournaments are set to take place at the Gaming Library booth inside SMX Convention Center Manila, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. The booth will also house shelves filled with games that will pique the interest of beginner and veteran gamers alike.

Gaming Library forms a part of the line-up for TOYCON 2018. TOYCON, which stands for The Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectible Convention, is dubbed as Asia’s biggest and longest-running convention for toys and collectibles, cosplay, comics, gaming and digital entertainment.

“TOYCON 2018 is a great opportunity for Gaming Library to reach out to and connect with gamers here in the Philippines,” said Gaming Library’s Chief Meeple Hans Kenner Fernandez. “In the spirit of healthy competition, we hope to establish a sense of camaraderie among our tournament entrants. Through real-time matches, we want people to realize that board games require not just luck, but also skill. Hopefully, this event will ignite a fire that will push one to discover the kind of fun that only tabletop gaming can provide,” he added.

Signing up for the tournaments is free. Interested individuals may fill out the form on the Gaming Library website. Click HERE for the Scythe tournament, and HERE for the Rising Sun tournament. For more information, please see below:
