The rush for Leaderboard points continues with August's last Ranked tournament! It was nothing short of explosive, with 28 games played and the spotlight shifting between veterans and new challengers alike.

Compared to the previous  (August 10) matchups, the field showed sharper adaptations — with players leaning harder into proven powerhouses like Artificer and Barbarian, while experimental picks such as Moon Elf continued to struggle under the fast-paced meta.

Player Highlights

  • Notably, newcomers Madgato and Atus_09 made their debut, immediately shaking things up. Madgato piloted Pyromancer with confidence, scoring 3-1 this tournament!

  • Markimol04 (3-1) showed his consistency with Barbarian, racking up clean wins against Claude’s Storm and Max’s Shadow Thief before finally falling to Meg’s Artificer in a close duel.

  • Meg was the night’s closer, piloting Artificer with precision across multiple rounds. His Artificer run ended with a dramatic win over bukowithrice’s Deadpool, capping off an impressive streak that has cemented Artificer as one of the strongest control picks right now.

Meta Analysis

This tournament gave us a much clearer picture of where the meta is heading:

  • Artificer on top – Artificer is dominating late-game setups with damage mitigation and strong ultimate swings. Expect more bans against this pick in the coming weeks.

  • Barbarian’s resilience – Markimol04 leaned heavily on Barbarian, and the results speak for themselves. Its raw durability continues to frustrate glass-cannon champions.

  • Moon Elf struggles – Despite multiple entries, Moon Elf couldn’t close a single match all night. The fast meta and punishing aggro decks seem to be leaving their pilots behind.

Most Banned

The ban phase told its own story:

  • Loki led the bans, already earning respect (or fear) after only a handful of competitive outings.

  • Shadow Thief also saw repeated bans, as players clearly didn’t want to deal with her burst damage and unpredictable ultimates in timed rounds.

 Takeaway

The August 30 Ranked Tournament showed a meta in flux — with Artificer and Barbarian as the current pillars, Loki emerging as a wild card, and older picks like Moon Elf fading under pressure. The race to adapt is on, and with each event, the bans are getting sharper and the matches tighter.
