Dice Throne Marvel Deadpool Deluxe - Gaming Library

Overview

The Dice Throne tourney last Sunday, July 13 was packed with epic clashes, bold hero picks, and some pretty clever bans across more than 20 games. With a solid roster of players, we saw some interesting trends emerge in terms of strategy and hero performance.

Top Performers

Three players emerged undefeated:

  • Paul Darwin Alcantara dominated with consistent plays and tactical draft decisions.

  • Mark Louis Peña leveraged Treant’s sustainability for critical wins.

  • Rex smashed expectations with Barbarian’s raw power.

Each of these champions demonstrated mastery not only of their factions but also of the broader ban-pick meta.

Faction Pick/Ban/Win Summary

The tournament meta leaned into both power and adaptability:

  • Most Picked: Monk (5), Thor (4), Rogue (3)

  • Most Banned: Vampire Lord (8), Barbarian (5), Rogue (4)

Interestingly, while Vampire Lord was the most banned, it had zero wins in two actual appearances. This sharp contrast between perception and performance suggests either overestimation or poor execution.

Meanwhile, Monk and Barbarian proved reliable, with strong win rates and frequent appearances. On the fringes, factions like Black Widow, Captain Marvel, and Black Panther maintained 100% win rates in limited usage, indicating possible hidden strength.

Matchup Highlights

Faction vs. faction data offered deep insights:

  • Loki beat Vampire Lord twice, countering aggression with misdirection.

  • Treant cleanly outdueled Deadpool, showing control can trump burst.

  • Tactician outmaneuvered Thor, proving smarts can beat strength.

  • Santa surprised with a win over Huntress, making the case for niche picks.

  • Monk dismantled Artificer with tempo and healing advantage.

These matchups hint at strategic depth and balance, especially in how certain counters unfold over repeated pairings.
