In honor of the Philippine gaming community, Gaming Library partners with the Czech Republic Embassy for a celebration of International Tabletop Month (ITTM) this May 5, 2018 at The Gallery in Greenbelt 5.

The ITTM event will feature a whole day of gaming and a showcase of the newest board game titles. It’s much-anticipated highlight is an exhibition match, where audiences will witness a display of wits between Team Manila and Team Czech Republic in a bid to claim victory over a Codenames battle.

Published by Czech Games, Codenames tests the players’ insight and intellect as they try to determine who their agents are through word clues. This mind-boggling game is popular in its native country, and also found its way in the hearts of Filipino gamers. In recognition of this, Czech Games teamed up with Gaming Library to create Codenames: Philippines, a localized version infused with the colorful and quirky aspects of the Philippine culture.

ITTM promises to be a notable affair, with Czech Republic’s very own Ambassador to the Philippines H.E. Mr. Jaroslav Olsa Jr. set to grace the event. Mr. Olsa has been serving as the bridge between Czech Republic and the Philippines since 2014.

Gamers will find that Gaming Library’s ITTM celebration is more than an ordinary gaming event. “We are pleased to have a role in strengthening relations between the Philippines and Czech Republic, and we’re doing it the best way we know how – through gaming,” said Gaming Library’s Chief Meeple Hans Kenner Fernandez. “We hope that this will help shape the perspective of Filipinos, Czechs, and the rest of the gaming community on tabletop gaming. More than tools for entertainment, board games can be a platform to understand the intricacies and gain appreciation of different cultures.”

Entrance to the event is free for everyone who has a passion for tabletop gaming.
